The flight of the Phoenix - Blu-ray, march 2022 (USA)

A downed airplane is a motley group of men’s only protection from the relentless desert sun, in this psychologically charged disaster epic, one of the all-time great survival movies. James Stewart is the veteran pilot whose Benghazi-bound plane—carrying passengers played by an unshaven ensemble of screen icons including Richard Attenborough, Ernest Borgnine, Ian Bannen, Dan Duryea, Peter Finch, and George Kennedy—crash-lands in the remote Sahara. As tensions simmer among the survivors, they find themselves forced to trust a coldly logical engineer (Hardy Krüger) whose plan to get them out may just be crazy enough to work—or could kill them all. Directed with characteristic punch by Hollywood iconoclast Robert Aldrich, The Flight of the Phoenix balances adventure with human drama as it conducts a surprising and complex examination of authority, honor, and camaraderie among desperate men.

Soledadmiranda.com: "These photographs are extremely special and there is a whole saga to how I acquired them. I am the owner of Soledadmiranda.com and the world's biggest scholar of her work. In fact, I am writing her official biography authorized by her family. In 2015, I was contacted by a man from Argentina who said his grandfather was the photographer on the set of the Spanish movie Playa de Formentor in 1964, and that he had over 100 original black and white photos his grandfather took from shooting the movie (some were used officially, and some were behind the scenes photos). Included in the photos were stars such as Gabriele Tinti, Margit Kocsis, Gérard Tichy, and of course the budding starlet Soledad Miranda, and some with the director Germán Lorente. He wanted to sell the collection for 1500 Euros. Though I wanted the collection to be kept intact for historical reasons, I could not afford that cost, so he agreed to sell me just the Soledad Miranda photos I wanted for $15 each. Then the seller dropped out of contact. I wrote him back many times... 2015, 2016, 2017 etc... until finally in 2020 he actually wrote back. I thought it was a miracle, as these are a Soledad fan's holy grail and seemed too good to be true! However, he wanted $700 for the photos. Wow. Well, long story short, in 2021 I finally acquired a collection of Soledad Miranda photos from the shooting of the movie Playa de Formentor. It was an ordeal and I was afraid after I sent the money that I would never hear from this guy again, but I had faith and it worked out. I am selling the collection of 23 photos I bought for two reasons. One, I need the money badly. Two, I have already scanned them in high quality and I figure they should go to someone who will actively enjoy them, rather than storing them away in a box as I usually do with my Soledad collectibles. To be specific, these 23 photos are in excellent quality printed on heavy card stock, and measure about 3.5 by 4.75 inches (9 by 12 cm). Since I paid over $700 for them (the cost he asked, plus  fees), I am looking to recoup as much as this as I can, in order to further fund my Soledad research in preparation to publish the biography I am writing about her. Here's where you come in! The buyer of these photos will not only get this historical collection of photographs from the filming of the movie, but I will also provide the contact information for the original seller in case you want to buy the rest of the collection with the other stars of the movie, which I believe he still has. I can send you the small scans of these photos he sent me so you can see what photos are in question. Thank you for reading and enjoy! You can read more about the movie on my website and see a video clip here: https://soledadmiranda.com/playa.html"
