"Guernica" de Franco Bottari, 1972 (Italie)

Il suo primo film è Guernica (1972), lavoro poco visto che si sforza di raccontare una poco credibile storia di violenza e terrorismo. Marco Giusti su Stracult lo definisce un terribile giallo politico che vorrebbe essere ambientato in un paese sudamericano e soffre invece di set romanissimi. Carlo Verdone - per l’occasione assistente alla regia - lo definisce un politico all’amatriciana, un film che Bottari gira ricorrendo a trucchi assurdi per nascondere in tutti i modi gli ambienti romani. Secondo Marco Giusti viene rieditato nel 1973 come Ventiquattro ore… non un minuto di più, ma per il Dizionario del cinema italiano del Poppi si tratterebbe di un nuovo film giallo girato nel 1974. Angela et Pasquale ont grandi ensemble dans une petite ville d’Italie et sont tombés amoureux. Ils aimeraient pouvoir se marier mais leurs familles respectives, de modestes paysans, n’ont pas assez d’argent pour organiser la noce. Face au désarroi de leurs enfants, ils trouvent bientôt un stratagème qui devrait leur éviter trop de dépenses inutiles : Pasquale va « enlever » Angela et rester seul avec elle pendant quelques jours. À leur retour, il ne restera plus qu’à les marier sans cérémonie officielle, donc sans frais…

Réalisé en 1954 par Giuseppe De Santis, l’un des fondateurs du néoréalisme italien avec des films comme Riz amer ou Pâques sanglantes, Jours d’amour fait partie de ses œuvres romanesques et sentimentales, avec ici un penchant assumé pour la comédie. Tourné dans sa ville natale de Fondi, ce récit d’un amour contrarié par les difficultés matérielles mêle à la fois commedia dell’arte, observation sociale aiguisée et lyrisme stylisé. Servi par deux fabuleux interprètes, Marcello Mastroianni et Marina Vlady, Jours d’amour est à découvrir pour la première fois en Blu-ray dans sa restauration 2K.
